June 2026 Project Update
Help Complete the Mission

After more than five years of planning, fundraising, and dedicated volunteer effort, the memorial honoring Veterans of Modern Warfare is entering its final phase.

This memorial will honor Navy SEAL John P. Connors, all Veterans of Modern Warfare, and the families who continue to carry their legacy forward.

A philanthropist inspired by this mission issued a challenge with a June 15 deadline, creating a unique opportunity to bring this project across the finish line.

Construction Progress

  • Material: The memorial’s granite components are being sourced from historic Stony Creek Quarry in Connecticut, the same quarry that supplied the granite for the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty.
  • Pedestal: Purchased 9’ x 9′ x 2.5′ granite block for architectural pedestal.
  • Boulder: Ordered 7′ x 7′ x 7′ granite block to be hand-carved into a natural boulder.
  • Construction Documents: Nearing completion.

Why This Matters

At 91 years old, John’s mother, Joan, has patiently waited to see her son’s sacrifice honored through a permanent memorial.

We hope to welcome Joan to the unveiling ceremony and celebrate the completion of this tribute with her present.

Every contribution helps bring that moment closer.
